Sri Nadiminty Sarvamangaleswara Sastry

Sri Nadiminty Sarvamangaleswara Sastry (1759-1839) lived in a small village named Nagooru located on the north bank of river Naagaavali in the present Vizianagaram district of north Andhra Pradesh. He was an authority on Siddhaanta Koumudi (ి్ధాం ి) and considered himself a maanasa sishya of Bhattoji Dixita. Following the tradition of Bhattoji Dixita, Sarvamangalwsara Sastry created four simplified Sanskrit grammar manuals – Sabda Manjari (శబ్ద మంజరి), Samaasa Kusumaavali (సమాస కుసుమావళి), Vibhakti Vilaasamu (విభక్తి విలాసము) and Ramayana Sangraham (రామాయణ సంగ్రహం), which stand as the most sought after textbooks by Sanskrit students even today, especially in the south India.

Sarvamangaleswara Sastry was had a unique style, which often are humorous
or satirical as per his mood. Take for example his Ganesha Sthuthi.

Bhoonaayakam vaa dhananaayakam vaa
Bhajan Bhuvam vaa dhanameti loke,
Tadvignanaatham nabhajaami kintu
Shasra sastam pranamaami nityamm

భూనాయకం వా ధన నాయకం వా
భజం భువం వా ధనమేతి లోకే
తద్విజ్ఞాతం న భజామి కింతు
శస్ర సస్తం ప్రణమామి నిత్యం

"If one seeks a landlord, he gives land; and a rich person gives money on pleading. If you seek from the Lord of Obstacles (Vighnas) He can only give Vighnaas. Hence I do not pray to Ganesha), but I bow to him thousands of times (just to keep him in good humour)".
